I’ve just realised that my ‘contact me‘ form on my blog is broken. Apologies if you have been trying to use the function.

This came to my attention during the review of my stats which indicated a high number of visits to my contact page with no messages left – which seemed rather odd.
Chances are, there are more mishaps like this, which I may not be aware of.

Therefore, I wish to throw open the floor and give you an opportunity to inform me of anything odd and out of place on this blog. Stuff that may disrupt your user journey.

This can be ANYTHING! – trust me….Colour scheme, comment system, navigation, performance e.t.c
I’m striving for improvement so all constructive comments are welcome.

Let’s get critical here guys.

    I would have to say that while the sound of the forthcoming ebook is great, get it done! No reason to have an opt-in and nothing there yet. Prioritize man! ;)

    Also, why should I think you can help me make a successful blog? In your /about section there is nothing that tells me you yourself are a successful blogger (granted, this is my first visit, so don't misunderstand my point).

    Hi John, You're so brave. No way I would open up my blog for criticism. HA!

    I've always felt that your blog is very easy on the eyes and the fonts and color scheme is really smooth.
    I'm not a fan of Disqus and I prefer Intense Debate, but it seems to be working fine so that's just a personal thing for me.
    On your Top Posts page you could add counts so we could have an idea how many visitors you're racking up.
    I have no idea what the Proud T12 member widget is, so there's no way I'd click on that (but I'm sure you can't change it).

    My picture is still showing up on your FaceBook fans widget, so I'm good with that! LOL

    Hey John.
    The site looks good and loads quickly. I do agree with Mike, up that post schedule. I recently cut back because of a couple of projects but I would recommend at least 3 post weekly. People do notice. When I scaled back a few weeks ago people started checking in to see if I was okay, which I really appreciated. But the point is that folks get used to a schedule and set an expectation.

    That T12 banner, that's done and old news now. May want to think about a replacement for that slot.

    If you need a source for the ebook cover you can check Clickcovers.com. I am going to do a little redesign on my site and I flat out don't have the time. Nathan Hangen recommended Dean @ Clickcovers. Check the portfolio on the site, sharp looking graphics.

    Man, you have only a couple of things to fine tune which means you're in good shape. You and I once clashed on topics right regularly so let's get back in the groove. LOL

    Hey Mike, The e-book is actually almost done – I'm about 90% done. I'll replace the cover shortly.

    And yes I know, my post frequency has been appalling of late. Not really going to make any excuses here.
    However, I have sort of taken some time to re-evaluate a few things and to focus on a few things one of which is the ebook.

    It's currently been scheduled for the 2nd week in May.

    Hello Keith, thanks for your comment.
    I'm happy let you know that the ebook is 90% complete, this is actually up there on my priority list, hence my irregular posting. I felt I needed to focus on that and do it right.

    Just to clarify one thing on your second point – I am no expert and I don't consider myself as one.
    And I am not one to talk about stuff I know nothing about – trust me on that one.

    However, I do believe i have acquired knowledge up to a decent level where I am able to share my discoveries and what I know with others who don't know.
    And there learning process doesn't stop there.

    The focus of the ebook is not about creating a successful blogger but putting the right building block in place which could potentially turn your blog into a success.
    That said, I will update my about page to reflect my recent blogging travels.

    Feedback are great, it keeps you on track so that one is not stuck in his own world.

    I'm glad you like the look and feel of the blog. I will take on board your point on top posts.
    In fact, I need to revisit that area as my recent hosting switch would affected the stats.

    I just looked at the ad copy for the e-book and the part that says: “The forthcoming e-book will walk you through the process of developing a successful blog.” I guess I just assumed, sorry :)
