Blogging is Fun!

I have had an exciting time this week networking, making friends with new bloggers from all around – sharing blogging ideas and tools.
With yourblogtools.com up and running, I decided it was time to shift focus and concentrate on relationship building – and it has been fun.
As a result of this move, I noticed three changes on this blog:

  1. An increase in traffic.
  2. A significant increase to my subscriber list.
  3. An increased activity in my post comments and discussions.
To celebrate this excitement, I have put together a short video post which also happens to be my first :)

    Hey John,
You're right about bloggers in general being a friendly and helpful lot. I've found exactly the same thing. I think it's cool you're expanding your network as well. It will help a lot. Keep up the good work!

    Good vid, John.
Expanding our networks is a key element to success, I believe. I continue to have fun and enjoy blogging and social networking with people from around the globe.
    Keep blogging! :-)

You'll have to tell me how you do those short videos and I also need to look at screen capture video to do an online “walk” through stuff I'm reviewing. Video gives you an extra dimension and you come over as a friendly guy who's having a ball. Very infectious.

What a fun video, awesome accent.

I think it is very important to get out into the blogging community and make virtual friends. We are all in this venture to be winners and there truly is enough of the pie to go around. I hope to see you visit my blog and comment on occasion as well.

    Take care! :)

Nice one John! Good first vid and good to hear another Brit accent in the blogging world!

@gordie and @Jimi Thanks for the encouragement guys much appreciated. Blogging is more fun with you guys around :)

@kevin I simply used my old digi camera, did my editing in Windows Movie Maker and uploaded to vimeo.
As for screen capture videos, I would highly recommend SCREENR. The site allows you to create high quality screencasts with no software to download.
The screencasts are hosted on their site with options to tweet them or embed them to your site. SCREENR

@msfreeman Thanks for your comment – I would love to visit your blog, but your name doesn't have an hyper-link to it. Can you send this to me.

@MikeCJ I felt encouraged to do one after watching a few of yours :)

    Hey John
Great video! I haven't stepped into the world of creating a video, but by actually having a video of yourself people really get to know you better. Instead of just that little face you see on comments you actually get to hear a voice. I am a little scared to make a video cause I would probably sound dumb, but maybe when I get the guts I will do one.

You are right you just need to get out there and start socializing with other bloggers. I have found that other bloggers are helpful and it is really cool to be able to interact with people around the world on other blogs. I never knew there was such a community of bloggers out there until I stepped into this world of blogging.

    Great work!
    Jim

I totally understand where you are coming from Jim, but trust me – it's not that hard at all.
I was very much like you too at first. I hated the fact of filming myself….(how vain is that)
But, I decided the blog and my readers needed it, so I did it.
And you are right, video does bring a different dimension to a blog and gets you closer to your readers.

So, I shall look forward to seeing your first video too :)

    Hi John, great video!

I agree 100% with you, blogging is fun! In the “real” world is hard to know people who have your same interests but here (in the blogosphere) we can know them. One of the most gratifying aspects of being a blogger is the great conversations we can have when we comment on someone else's blog. Besides, we learn a lot in the process of updating our blog.

    See you comrade :)

You have a very good point there. In the real world you are never spoilt for choice like this.
And it probably wouldn't have provided an opportunity to converse with you.

    Catch you later mate
