A survey is a great way to get into the mind of your readers. Hopefully your ebook is not that far down the road that you cannot implement changes you gleam from the survey

I have also tried to keep it short and simple, so it doesn't put people off.

I wouldn't worry to much about that for now as there isn't a right or wrong way of writing a blog post.
Its just a matter of finding your style and running with it.
Although your blog seems fine from what I can see.
Also, practice makes perfect.
Getting more material out there will help discover what works for you and your audience.
